Something Old to Something New

Do you have some old pieces you no longer wear because they are dated or are not your style anymore? What about a piece that was passed down that you would never see yourself wearing? I believe it is important to wear and cherish each piece of jewelry. The simple solution to get the most wear out of your jewelry is to have pieces that you actually want to wear. The recycling process of jewelry is one of the most cost effective ways to get a new meaningful piece, and have fun in the design process. What exactly is the recycling process? It is taking a piece(s) of jewelry that you no longer wear or ever wore, and designing a brand new piece or two or more!

For example, this 3 carat diamond eternity band was too big and bulky. It was not getting much wear because it was uncomfortable and really did not look right. The shared prong setting was solid, but that did help the piece get worn more.

The solution was to recast by refining the metal designing something classic that would have a lower profile and a touch of millgrain of course :) We kept the gallery open to let in light and allow the stones to sparkle more. The new octagon eternity band was born with a few stones to spare for a future project.
